New Plymouth, Oct. 29 Mrs. James Rutherford, mother of Lord Rutherford of Nelson, the famous scientist, will to-morrow celebrate her both birthday. She enjoys remarkably good health an 1 clearly remembers w hen she landed at Auckland 08 years ago. Mrs. Rutherford lived in New Plymouth till torced to go to Nelson to take refuge from tlu- Maoris. Subsequently she lived at Spring Grove and Foxhill, Nelson and Havelock in Marlborough. In 1887 she returned to New Plymouth.
