THAT VETOES RELIGION PREACHER RAISES NEW POINT ABOUT RUSSIA In view of the suggestions made in different parts of New Zealand recently that New Zealand might profitably open up with Russian. exchanging wool for benzine, it was, interesting last evening to listen to a suggestion from Dr. .1. IT. Ruslilvrooke. P.D.. M.A.. secretary of the Baptist World Alliance who is visiting Palmerston in the course of a tour of the Dominion. I).'. Ruslibrooke had just concluded an address on the persecution of religion in Russia pointing out that if was (lie unswerving aim of the Soviet to stamp out religion of every sort. He wondered if the rest of tlie world might lime able to enler ils protest by refraining from trading with Russia so long as it adopted that attitude to religion, ospecially wlien it was known that men exiled from their homes because of religious beliefs were required to work at some of tbe industries, the product of which was exported. He instanced the timber trade of the far north of Russia where lie said reli•gions exiles were sent'.
