A remarkable, scene occur?'ed in the Ulster Him., of Ctamtoos, Air Beattie, a Labourite; complained that tho Speaker, without precedent bad refused a, mostiou in which Mr Beattie ciupfutsised the plight of the unemployed. Mr Speaker said he had declined tho motion because ho could not introduce if on the Order Paper an Prorogation bay. Air Beattie thereupon advanced to the front of hie Speaker's chain and shouted: “I refuse to isit in a House where there is such hypocrisy .while tfiouvandg are starving!” Ho seized the A facto and threw it. an to. khe floor.
Tlie Sergeant at Arms replaced the Mare, but Mr Beattie .again flung it. to the floor, shouting: “I ■von’t- allow the question to lie dismissed in this way !” Mr Speaker ordered Mr Beattie, to leavo the House and Mr Bl'attie left saying; he would withdraw “un-tor protect.”
