DIFFERENCE OVER RULES DECISION OF UNION LOCALISING FOR INJURED . . (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Aug. 15. .At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Rugby. Union to-night a letter was received from the Otago Boys’ High School stating that in connection with the high schools tourney to be played at Dunedin next week the Christchurch High School insisted on the replacement of injure* 1 players and that til:* Tlmaru High School supported if in its attitude. It was decided to advise the Otago High School that as the matches in tin- tournament will lx* played under the rules of the English Rugby Union. an.l that as these rules are accepted by the New Zealand Union, the t’< inmittee cannot grant permission to teams taking part in the tournament to replace injured players. It war also decided that the committee lid not countenance a player of'one team Iteing sent off to equalise matters where a player was injured .slid had to leave the field. It was further resolved to instruct the Union’s delegates to the special meeting at M’ellingtun on August IS to oppose the reintro luctioh of the kick into touch rule.
