Large numbers of sheep were affected by show hlindne-a and in their: aimless ramblings many Were drawn-, ed in. tile creeks and temporary: lag' ins formed in the gullies. For Over : a week tlie snow covered -11 feed, both sheep and cattle starving to *dea th. The Wo'gilt Of th e snow brok e hug limbs off forest'trees and-this green -tuff was avidly devoured, even, tel the hark. - The position is now improving,, though further back on the hills there are still deep drifts. The losses 0f... stetak. are reported to be considerable.
