Impressed by the shrewd, wi o and far-seeing policy behind the Macarthy Trust, another Wellington man, Air H.onrv WiJshaw, a gardener, who died IS years alter Mr ATacarthy, directed in his will that titer res*«|lle of 7 Wa estate should bo devoted; to tv Wilshaw Trus t and that its accumulations he distributed annually by the Macarthy -trustees in the same manner as is the main trust. Of course, the Wilshaw fund a. very modest allair compared with the Afa cart hv foundation. Still, the trustees found they had a. total -of £730 for distribution. The Board of Governors (or trustees) have authorised that the sum bo devoted exclusively to the relief of distress and accord:Ugly the. following grants were authorised : The Alayor’s Fund £2OO, Salvation Army £l5O, Home for Incurables £75, St. Vincent do Paul Society £125, Wellington City A fission £IBO. These amounts are to he applied solely for the relief of distress in tlio provincial district of Wellington. Thus Mr Ala earthy has been a fine example to be followed as well as a great public* bemc factor, -a .vi -»- - •.
