BARBARIC JOKE
BAA OF PLENTY ALLEGATION COW’S TAIL ON 1-IRE 'Per Press As#u>oiar.i<>n> Opotiki, August 13. It is reported that a cruel practical joke was perpetrated at Opotiki by a schoolboy. A man observed the boy doing- something to a cow # ant subsequcntlv saw the animal dash away with fire streaming from it. 1 hindquarters. It is alleged that the boy poured either kerosene or ben zinc on the hindquarters and tail < the cow and then set it alight I're animal was badly burned and wil probably have, to be destroyed.
