Running amok in a high powered raving ear which was reported to have been .stolen from a city showroom and which contained also his six-year-olfl daughter, a man drove at breakneck .speed among the aeroplanes at tlie Areherftold aerodrome jester lav afternoon. lie crashed into two aeroplanes and broke through three fences liefore he left the ground, with three ears in pursuit. Sir Kingsford Smith’s Southern Cross was one of tlie machines menaced. Sir Kingsford stood guard with a loaded rifle, foreing the driver of the ear to sheer away from the Southern Cross. The famous aviator led tlie subsequent chase after the wrecker. The fugitive was stopped and submitted quietly. 1 nter. William Elder was charged in Court, with being untie: - suspicion of being insane.
