BUSHFELLERS KILLED
TWO LIVES LOST IN NORTH FAILED TO GET CLEAR (Per Press Association.) Auckland, Aug. 12. Two Imshfelling fatalities have Occam'l in (lie Far North. Mr. Teri Pirikito Bristbwe, a married man. aged 4ft, was engaged, together with 19 others, on a busiifetiing contract at Orakau, who lie was struck on the forehead by a small limb of a falling tree. He received a fracture of the skull and died within hall an hour without regaining consciousness. Mv. David Apiata, a married mail, aged 24.' of Oromahoe. was engaged ■with another man in felling an isolated tree at Waimate North. He cancel out to his companion to get clear, 'r.* iie himself was struck by the falling tree and received a fracture of the skull and lie died litter. His companion got clear. The district coroner at Ivaikolie, Air. T. Guerin, conducted inquests, and a verdict of accidental death was rotnrnel in each instance. Both men were experienced bushmen and all possible precautions were taken in the felling operations.
