FINDING WORK FOB, BOYS A decision by the education section of the Auckland Boys’ Employment Committee that the only possible field at present for the substantial absorption of boys was on the land was reported to a meeting of the executive..
The committee expressed the opinion that the process of placing troys on the laud would be Lament'd, by developing land-inindedne ss among all sections of the community. There was a real necessity for convincing the unemployed boy and his parents that brighter prospects attached to agricultural pursuits during the next decade than to city occupations. It was mentioned that in.duet ion in what could be. termed farm mechanics had begun with a number of hoys at the Sedition Memorial Technical College. Appreciation of the efforts of Mr G. J. Park, principal of the college, the board of ma-n. ngers and the Auckland Education Board was expressed.
