(Per Pre K s Association) Auckland. Aug. 9. There are fair supplies of potatoes in the stores. The ex wharf 1 rice is from £7 Ids to £8 ton. according to quality, and through store £3 ss. Japanese onions are fetching IDs per crate, local 19s per cwt. There is no change in (he market for oats and chaff. B. Gartons are quoted at 4s 4*l .per bushel, and chaff at £-S 15s per ton, with restricted business. Despite the fact that there are substantial supplies of fowl wheat in Hie south, holders there have l>een able lo force prices up within the last two days of from id to lid per bushel. When’this rise is reflected locally consumers will have to pay (is (id per bushel. The local market is still supplied with African maize and a further shipment is expected by the Tishnaren on Thursday. Prices are: African. 5s 9<l: crushed 5s 3(1 per bushel. - - -
