THE GOVERNOR’S INTEREST INTENDS TO OFFER PRIZES Pleas Association!. Christchurch, August S. The Governor-General during his visit to the Winter Show to-day ai ■ nounced his intention of offering prizes for the best exhibits of hard .glutinous thin:-s.i uned wheats and for the best loaf of bread made from them. If the entries are satisfactory during the next two years he conemplated offering a championship trophy for the best wheat exhibit. Lord and the Lady Blodisloe paid a special visit to the stall in which the women’s auxiliary of the Return* ed Soldiers’ Association has arranged a. sale of handcrafts by disabled returned soldiers. Their Excellencies purchased several articles, and the patron of the auxiliary, Mrs G. Gould, presented the Lady Bledifloo with a. book cover ornamented with their Excellencies arms.
