Having served Wellington Harbour Board for many years, Mr A. G. Bar. licit, Us secretary, has been appointed as itg chief executive officer. Mr D. P. Porteous, postmaster at Marlon, has retired on superannuation. His successor, Mr H. Miller, took over the duties yesterday. At the first meeting of the newly elected council of Victoria University ■ College in Wellington last night Mr P. Levi was unanimously re-elected chairman. Mr J. Caiman, formerly manager of the Fremantle branch of the Bank of New South Wales, whp has been appointed assistant manager of the Auckland branch, arrived by the Maung-anui from Sydney. He was °n the staff of 11“' Podding branch at one time.
