When she- did not return on the following day. her relatives organised a search party. The peninsula is covered with scrub and bush, and the search was fruitless. At the end of the week the police were informed, hut although they made two wide searches, the girl was not found. Late yesterday afternoon she was found in some scrub about 350 yards from the house. She had taken with her some sacks and a man’s overcoat, hut no food. She lived on turnips and kumaras.
