“OVER THE HILL” AT TIVOLI “Over the Hill” is at the. Tivoli Theatre to-night. The key character of the story is “Ala” Shelby, mother of the brood around whom the plot revolves. Calling- for an actress equipped to play both a woman in he r prime and an old lady in her do dining years, it required one who 'was a mistresg of her art, Miss Mae .Marsh, favourite of silent days and star of such production as “The Birth of a Nation” and “Intolerance” was induced to leave her own ; children and mother the film child--ren. Another key role was that ..if Johnny, the good son. Thirty different aspirants faced the test cam eras before tbe desired player was : found, lie was James Dunn, then playing on the Now York stage. Miss Sally Filers is in the roraanti-: femininc lead. The remaining players include James Kirkwood, Edward Crandall, Olin Howland, Claire Maynard and William Pawley. Henry King, who made “Merely Mary Ann,” directed the production. The season concludes to-mor-row 'night.
