The man in the sweet thinks that of all men .in the Dominion tlio farmer is being looked after hy the State best of all. That- % an °>:- aggoration.. If men are not kept 0,1 the land what will happen to the land? But what does the Farmers’ XJniejn want in the propaganda paddock? They are not fighting those greatest of all propagandists, the X/abour Party, for there is a movement amongst the Farmers’ XTnionists in the north to amalgamate with the Labour Party. At a meeting cf tlio Farmers’ XTnioin. a.t this end of Hawke’s Bay last week it was decided to organise a- series °f mass meetings, in order to g-t farmers interested in farmers’ matters. It wa s suggested that tlio speakers clic-ttld be '’Captain Colbeck, Air Feld, All* W. Poison, Captain Rushworth and Sir William Hun.t. Strange to sa.v, Sir William was objected to because ‘‘he wag purely a oommcrcial man a.nd a nominee -of the banks!” Yet there is no man who has more, to do with land in the Dominion- than that same knight, • ■ «
