RETURN IN AMERICA HIGH COST OF PETROL The experience of the Canadian prairie is being repeated in the Middle West States of America, where horses are again coming into their own, owing to the low price of feed and the high price of tractor fuel. In Illinois and lowa 18 horses are at work for every tractor, fully half of the farm tractors are idle. Horses are being more used right throughout the United States this year than for years past, an;l the sales of harness and horse-drawn equipment: for the first five months of this year exceed those of any similar period in recent years. Work horses and mules are bringing higher prices than liave ruled for several years.
