Tlie Federal Government's Garnishee Proclamation wa. s again defied yesterday, when no money whatever from State -Sources was paid to the Commonwealth. Mr Beardmore, chief accountant of the Lands Department, attempted to keep faith. He directed iliis officers- to comply with the Proclamation, but secret instructions arrived ordering that the Proclamation be disobeyed. ’ Air Bcardsmoro insisted to tl'O staff that bis directions should bo followed, hut later was politely invitod “to go mi leave.”
