Jt was estimated that nine millions sterling bad been, sent overseas over and above the ordinary requirementsTHE SHORTAGE Including a. deficit of £900,000 from the previous year and a short. age of two millions on the estimated revenue, the deficit to be met to £3.735.000. EXTRA TAXATION Extra taxation provides £3,535.000, including imposts on the gold industry, ru surtax of 5 t° P°r cent o n fixed interest, import duties on farm machinery, spirits and ten.
