Men of 25 years’ residence or more in New Zeala'll 1 on obtaining the oldage pension, application for which at the age of (Jo is compulsory,' cease to Income contributors to the [Unemployment Fund, and in consequence they are unable to obtain any relief work, whereas men who have been resident in the Dominion less than 25 years, even if only resident for 12 months, can apply to become contributors to the Unemployment Fund, and. if married, can receive 37s Gd a week, while the men with the longer residence in the Dominion can only receive a pension of a maximum of 17s G 1 a week. It was decided to interview the Minister and point out the anomaly, which the members of the committee were unanimou should he removed
