ANNUAL M Id*TING OF UNION OUFI( ERS EI.ECTED I-AYR YEAR The annual meeting of delegates of the .Manawatu Rugby Union was held at Palmerston North last night. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr PI. F. Gibbons; President, Mr J. . Colquhouii; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs A. \Y. Thompson, T. Pagan and E. I>. Alaekie; management 'committee-, Ale.ssrs K. Eglinto.ii. T, McPloi roll. E. Glovely. N. Penney. N. Bowler, Pi. Craw lord and C. Yates; secretary, Mr (’. AY. White; treasurer, -Mr 1. R Ha.rdio : Union*? surgeons, Drs. Hunter Will, King, Durward (Palmerston Nortli), and Mules (Woodvilb:*), the Feilding appointment, or appointments, to be left to Mr Pagan aiij tlie Feilding committee; bon. auditor. Mr K. Eglinton. Formal advice was received that Mr H. Hands had been appointed to represent the Referees’ Association on the management committee. The primary schools’ representative has not been appointed yet. , FOURTH GRADE COMPETITION The Kin Tea Club wrote suggesting that it wovdd be better for all concerned if the age limit for fourth grade players he clone away with, and Mr Crawford moved that the suggestion be given -effect to. The motion was carried on the voices, and Mr Colling then . moved that the management committee be asked t (> consider the advisability oi imposing a weight limit, this being adopted also. TR AYET.I.TNG EXPENSES The president, Messrs A. W d'h on ip so n and K. Eglinton wore appointed a sub-rom mittae to consider tlie best method ol assisting clubs in live matter of travelling expenses for players. The suh-onmmiltiee will bring down a recommendation to tne management oommittc e. VOTT'S OF APPRECIATIONMoviic, that tlie Railway Ambulance Service (Palmerston North) and Mr V. Morphy (Feilding) be a gai rl asked to act as first aid officers for the coining season and that tide union’s high appreciation of these services be placed on record, the president referred to the ’ efficient and willing help given by the gentlemen concieivned to Rugby football in the district. OPENING OF SEASON On tlie motion of Air Eglinton V' was resolved to open the season oil Saturday, -April 30, tlie third and lower grade competitions to commence one steels inter. Nominations of team's will he received up to April 18.
