FEILDINg CLUB'S AXXUAL MEETING REPORT AND ELECTIONS The annual meeting- of the Feilcling- Chess and Draughts Club was held last nig-ln. THE ANNUAL REPORT The annual report on the 1931 season (which was adopted) Stated that it had been very successful, and great enthusiasm was shown by all 14 members. Four inter-club matches were played, resulting as follows : Versus Marton : First match lost by 24* to 25*; second watch won by to 16Y ; versus Apiti and Kimbolton: First match won by 35 to 19; second match lost by tq£ to 30L The. club’s draughts championship was won by Mr YY. Johnson and the sealed handicap by Mr \Y Boddy. Mr Boddy had kindly offered a medal for competition during the coming season. Owing to the depression the subscription was reduced to 2s 6d and expenses were paid out of the funds. Consequently, the balance shows only' a small credit balance. An unsuccessful effort was made to bring chess players together. It is hoped that several players will join up this year. A trophy has been ' promised by Mr Tingey and this should serve to stimulate interest. Taking all factors into consideration, the club lodges forward to another good season.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS Officers were elected as follows: Patron f the Hon. J. G. Cobbe. President, Mr W. Redinayne. Vice-Pre-sidents, Messrs C. Christian and \Y. - Watt. Secretary and treasurer, Mr P. G. Guy, Committee, Messrs Redmayne, Watt and P. G. Guy PAY AND PLAY The subscription for tlie year was fixed at 2s 6d and Wednesday was chosen as the playing- night. Mr W. Johnston was elected an honorary member and a letter of thanks was sent to him for his support. TO REVIVE CHESS The matter of reviving- interest in chess was left to Messrs Guy and Watt. VOTE OF THANKS.. A vote.of thanks was passed to Mr C. Harford, the retiring secretary, who is leaving the district.
