RIVALS IN THE MARKET OFFER OF REINVESTMENT NOT BEING TAKEN UP (Per Press Association). Dunedin, February 13. The response to the invitation to holders of bonds in the city’s two maturing loans of £360.000 to reinvest has non been encouraging, largely due to the fact, it is believed, that other bodies are on the local market offering 5J per cent interest to the council's 5 per cent.
Th e Council is accordingly applying to the Minister for authority to pay the higher rate.
