TRAVELLER WITHOUT TICKET “IN SECRET SERVICE” (Petr Press Association). Tailiape, Feb. 13. “I'm a secret service man,” declared Stanley Wilfred Adams in the Tailiape Police Court on Thursday, when charged with travelling without a ticket on a Marton-Tai-liape train. Adams has a farthing in his pos- j session, which lie termed the “King's farthing,” and a curious sign embellished on a pocket-book, saying that they were part of the identification methods of the secret service. According to the police, however Adams -bad worked on wharves at
Wellington and accused told the ‘ Bench that lie had been in New Zealand for 30 years. After Adams had stated that he had travelled all over the world on his pocketbook “pass” and never had it questioned, the Bench fined him £l. in default 14 days imprisonment. It was also suggested that he l>e examined as to his mental condition.
