BUTTER MAY ADVANCE

STOCK POSITION SATISFACTORY AMERICA IS SHORT In tbo opinion of A. H. Turnbull and Co., of Christchurch, who ara New Zealand agents for W, Wedclel and Co., London. there should be an improvement in the butter market before long. Writing under -date Feb. 10 this firm pays: The stock position of New Zealand butter ip satisfactory. The estimated arrivals for February March lid April are only slightly greater than the same memths- last year, whilt stocks in si:arc, at February G are practically the same as last. year. With a retail price of Ip lid there should be no difficulty in keeping stocks clear. Imports of butter generally to- tho United Kingdom seem to be heavier than last season, but there is still a very heavy shortage of stocks of butter in the United States, and we think that at some time during tlie next month or sci tile United States will have tot come into the butter markets of the world to make up their shortage, and this should have, a firming tendency o<n all markets.
