TIMBER FOR AUSTRALIA
EXPORT LICENSES QUESTION WAIVING OF REGULATIONS Advice lias been received by .luckland suwnnllers from the Department of Industries and Commerce that the question of export licenses and the timber trade with Australia has been the subject of a conference between, the Minister of the department and tile chairman of the Associated Banks of New Zealand, and an arrangement has been reached. It is not proposed to interfere in. any manner whatever with the present. trading relations with Australia, and the regulations will be waived with tin- exception that shipping! documents must lie handed to a bank for transmission to Australia and *>+. the exporter will give an assurance that the goods 'exported are for distribution and consumption in Australia.
