According- to a-report from Dunedin,, the four year old mare T ray Bond, by Tea 'Cray from Victory Bond, is to be trained at Gore in future. Though she -lacks stamina, Tray Bond has a lot of speed, and she should win- some sprint racethis season. J T. Jamieson--fonfirms the report that the. 1928 A.J.C. Derby winner, Prince Humphrey, will nevei race again, says.the Sydney Referee. lie recently gave him away to a lady to use as a hack, with the proviso that when his days of usefulness in that sphere were ovci he was to be destroyed. Jamieson is of opinion it is kinder to destroy played- out racehorses than let them die of neglect, which often happens. Prince Humphrey did not win anything subsequent to the A.J.C. Derb>3 in which he was erroneously described as being out of Shepherd Princess, instead of Princess Hazel. T he mistake was not discovered until some months after the race. T he five year old gelding Jacobin, who had lx-'en coupled with. Phar Lap for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups double, has not much to recommend him in the way of form, says an Australian writer. In South Australia as a, three year old, he won a seven furlongs trial handicap ; dead heated for first as a three year old in a mile handicap; and in Victoria won a 1A miles race at Warwick Farm. This season he won a nine furlong* swelter with 8.2 at Caulfield. Although he won that race by three lengths , he ; subsequently finished nowhere* -with 8.9 in a mile welter won by .Pinnacle. Jacobin is by Amalfi from Nurse C a veil, by Bardolph from Ro.se of Bleu, by Llavus. Nurse Cavell is consequently a half sister to the Newmarket Handicap winner Sunburst, who was by Bernard. \> :i . * . '
