HOOVER POINTEDLY CHARGED LONG SILENT PRESIDENT , (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) Washington, June 17. Senator Walsh, investigator of the United States oil scandals, commenting on President Hoover’s address when dedicatng the Harding Memorial, infercntially charged the President with a dereliction of duty when, as a member of the Harding Cabinet, he had not exposed the crookedness in existing high official circles. Senator Walsh drew attention to President Hoover’s assertion that “betrayal by his friends” was a contributing caus© to cx-Prcsidcnt Harding’s death, and declared that it was injudicious for the President now to make such a disclosure.
