The session of the Grand Orange Lodge of New Zealand yesterday passed resolutions recording regret at the passing of the Nurses and Midwive.s Amendment Bill as prejudicing the status of the nursing profession and placing sectarian hospitals in competition With public hospitals for State aid ; objecting to l the exempt! i.i bf lay teachers in certain private sihuols from the payment of the unemployment levy; protesting against the exteusiein of tile dental clinic service to Uio scholars of denominational schools; and renewing the protest against free railway travel to. the children ef deiLuiniiiiatioiuiil schools.
