IN A LONDON FIRE MOTHER BURNED IN SAYING CHILDREN Edward Vernon, 70, was burned to death in a firo which broke out early in the morning at a tenement house in New Chesterfield street, Marylebone, London. Mr Vernon, who was an invalid, was found dead when firemen broke into his room in the basement after other tenants in the house had dashed ipto the street in their night clothes. Mrs Ada Blatch was awakened by the intense and smokq. She struggled towards her two children, aged eleven and four, and helped them out of the house. In doing so she was badly burned. The children w#re suffering from shock.
