FKFEZING WORKS RATES REDUCTION AT ADDINGTON (For Pros? Association). Christchurch, Dec. 10. Freezing works rates for fat lambs, ns anticipated, came back at Adding ton today, the best of the lambs lor export being purchased on a basis o? 6£d a lb., as compared with 8d a lb. last week. Tbe rates operating to-day were 6£d For 28-321 b. lambs, 6sd. for overweights, and 53d. for seconds. These prices,- it was stated, villi be reduced by id to-morrow. Butchers also bad amended ideas of values, and brought tbe-r limits back by about Id a Tb. They were paying on a basis of 7d. a lb. for the best of the lambs, and in some cases up to 7-Jd. The offering tota led 1600 head, tlio largest this season.
