Tlie amounts shown a s available for expenditure in the various ridings were as under: Sandoai riding, £2OO 1.75; Mount Stewart, £O4 los Od; Waitohi, £2lO 0s Dd; Rongotea £65 7s Carnarvon, £64 4s lOd ; Kawa Kawa, £133 7 S Od; Awahou, £73 10. s 6d. At present £8683 in-rates was- out-' standing. This sum included hospital an<l special rates, a s well as general rates. The revenue of the council was strengthened by refunds in the loan account on plant and metal, etc., and the Government subsidy on rates yet to collie, the whole amounting to £3410, while in addition, the council’s ordinary general revenue amounted to £(>100. Under the latter heading revenue from other sundry accounts was expected to produce £3OO, and this would give the council £7OOO with which to finish the remaining three months of the year. The pexsition was quite Satisfactory, and with care tlie council would have sufficient funds to carry it through th o balance of its work.
