Air Wild said that asi thp new class rooms, will he in course of construeuon during the first term of the year 1931. and file noises would seriously interfere with tlie work oi tile school, in addition to the inconvenience of not having the use of the rooms althmeugh the numbers in the school would b,> larger. He was bitterly disappointed that the school was not to have the use of the new class rooms from the beginning of the year. PROPOSED ASSEMBLY HATJj Air Wild informed the Board he. had interviewed the , Director of Education \vit T reference to the assembly bail and especially its position in regard to the proposed class rooms. Ho had been informed that the class roorng as proposed would not affect the location of the assembly ball, and hail been advised that any pressing of the request for the assembly ball would delay the other work. If and when the Board received a grant for the hall, then the Department would provide some connecting link with the class, rooms. Air AYild added as he bad had a pistol aimed at his head through suggesting the assembly hall, he could do nothing but submit in order not to delay the building of the class rooms.
A fetter from the Director of Education informed the Board there was 110 possibility of getting a grant for 'the assembly hall until the financial position of the country had improved. ’ PRIZE GIVING Mr AVild reminded the Board that the prize giving would be held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday, evening next- Professor Hunter is to give the address. commercial certificate Air Wild referred to) a proposed certificate for pupils which might ly jssupd. The chairman said the Wellington Chamber of Commerce had a very good scheme for the is»ue~oT certificates for commercial proficiency. Perhaps the local Chamber of Commerce might take up this scheme and assist the school in adopting it. AIR G. V. WILD Speaking to the Agricultural Committee’s report. Air Campbell expressed appreciation of the very valuable assistance given to the Committee by Mr G. V. Wild.
