FOB THE WEST COAST SOME 810 FIGURES THE REPORT RELEASED (Per Press Association). Wellington, Oct. 31. At tlio.las meeting of (lie Central Earthquake Committee, held on Aeiober 22, il was .decided to issue n statement of the position of the relief funds and this was released for publication by Mr. Ransom to-day. The expenditure to the end of October was £118,511 for relief purposes, while, the outstanding, commitments, mainly on account of grants not yet paid by the District Committees and also the estimated requirements to meet claims pending, total £27.993. The Chairman emphasised that the statement Issued is not a final statement of the fund, and that tile final figures, after a review by the Audit Office, will be published ns soon ns tile work of the District Committees is finished. Subscriptions were £147.041 interest on investments made by the Treaspry. £l2 IBs Hid. interest on moneys deposited with the Public Trustee £4503 7s 3d. credits in reduction of expenditure fill 19s 9d : total, £151.037 10s 3d.
