Th® oats and chaff market is “ dead " at present. A Cartons from the south are quoted at 3s 7d t, 3s 8d f.o.b.s.i. and B’s at 3s fid to 3s 7d. A’s for Lyttelton shipment are worth Id more than these values in each case. There has been a little better inquiry from the north for chaff, but even with this rhe business passing is of small proportions. The value Is £2 a ton on trucks.
