According to the latest official statistics Wanganui lmd a total net liability of £1,018.550, on which tlm annual charges wer ( . £77.545. It is considered that an analysis of the position must h e made as the interest bill amounts to £lO5 daily. Several suggestions liav e been made, among them that some of tile city’s work lie done by contract or tender, and that a city manager be appointed.
