TO IMPROVE BACON

NEW -SCHEME ADVOCATED

The council of the New Zealand Pig L eeders’ Association is being recommended by the ManawatuOroua branch of the association to take steps to put into operation a scheme similar to that now in operation in Canada, with the object of making- a wider and more rapid distribution of the best approved type of breeding- sows for supplying- pigs suitable for the pork and bacon trades.

In view of the probability that grading of bacon will be operating in some form during the coming season, the Palmerston branch of the association is also inviting local firms, to co-operate in preparing and issuing a pamphlet pointing out the essential features in the production of pork and bacon which will ensure first quality grade.
