The highest arsenal of gangsters’ weapons ever seen in New York was discovered when some detectives trailed and detained a fashionable sedan ear driven hy the wife of a certain notorious criminal. There wcr e Iwimbs enough to destroy the whole of Broadway. What looked like harmless fountain 'pens were actually pistols discharging .22 calibre bullets. Hand grenades, stool tests, machine gnn s and other war material were discovered.
Three men were arrested. but the owner of tho car himself had sailed for Ireland recently. He had boon arrested 23 times — fIV(, times for murder—and his total time served in prison was one month.
