HURLED FROM A TRAIN
ACCIDENT AT LINTON SHOCKING- 'INJURIES Shocking injuries were suffered In Mr Frederick Ellis, of O'taki. a passenger by th.e Na.pier express, in a bad accident which occurred at the Linton railway station. Others on the train were horrified, spectators of the occurrence. The unfortunate, victim was limning out from the platform of the front oarriage, and was apparently waving to some friends, alien liis arm naught in the fork of the tablet. •Ho was dragged front the. carriage of the. passing training and was hurled 32 yards down the line, doctor was immediately summoned from Palmerston and Air Ellis was removed to the hospital. Apffironily the exchange section of the tablet, locked on. bis forearm just above the wrist, which was frigtlifully mangled and lacerated. He received shock ing {injuries, .including broken ribs, a scalp wound, and numerous abrasions. Subsequently it was found necessary to amputate his arm at the elbow - He is suffering considerably, but is now in a. satisfactory condition, considering the severe nature of his in.rjuri.es.
