CROSSING CRASH

A NARROW ESCAPE {Per Press Association) Gisborne, March 17. A crossing smash occurred this morning on King’s road, when a lorry driven by Kenneth Stephens was struck by the train and completely smashed. The driver escaped with head injuries, which were not serious. The cab of the lorry was reduced to splinters and the engine of the train was damaged by the impact, but was able to .continue on its townward journey.
