The Daily Express says munufactitterg, Thefchants and shipowners alb over' the country are preparing to combine in a great effort to secure a reduction of high dock charges in British ports, which are diverting trade to the Continent. It suggested that all interests should meet under the Board of Trade and Ministry of Transport. The possibility is being canvassed of some form of Government assistance for railway companies and other port authorities for the improvement of transport facilities on a national scale.
