A TYRO AS A TIPSTER
It is obvious that Air Stallworthy, the, new Minister of'Health, is a tyio amongst the members of our Parliament, hut lie should, not make the fact so obvious. In a pre-sessiopal address in Auckland this week the Minister told his audience that there would, he no additions to- the Statutes this session. That is an impossible result of a session of Parliament, and even a new member should * know that. Mr Stallworthy should know that already a number of Bills are actually ready to present to the We know that on the word of the Premier. Then there * are several Bills of more than passing:interest- that are to be brought'down by private members, not (to mention legislation that is bound to come from the Upper House. No additions to the Statutes! That would be'a miraculous session which, neither preatedi Acts nor revised or ame-pd-ivl measures already on the Statutes'. And isn’t Mr Stallworthy’s own departments bringing, down any measures for the good! of the rountpy? Probably what Mr Stall worthy should have been reported as saying was that- he did not intend. as a Minister to put any, new Bills before this session of Parliament.
