NEW STEAMER SERVICE
FIRST SHIPMENT OF REEF
With a little over, half of her refrigerated space occupied by New Zealand frozen beef, the. American steamer Golden Cross, of th© Oceania and Oriental Line, left Auckland this week for Honolulu and San- Francisco.
The shipment, which is the first from the- Dominion by this line, consisted of 400 quarters of beef, consigned through the Westfield Freezing Company and 559 bags of boneless veal, aggregating 47,5991 b., through tho. Auckland , . Farmers’ Freezing Company./ It was estimated that 55. per cent, of -the available, space was taken up. ' .
The Oceanic and Oriental J Navigation Company, which maintains a, monthly service .'Jjct jvecur Pacific Coast and New Zealand ports, now has rc- ’ Irigerated 'space, .available on all of the four steamers engaged in the trade.
