General Hertzog, Prime Minister, at (Die second reading of tlie Native Representation Bill at a* joint sitting of the Houses, said ii- the Government gave the natives equality Avitli whites, the latter could pack their bundles and leave South,; Af rca. They must make the natives understand such a demand wa,s impossible. While admitting that the coloured people had suffered injustice, he stressed that! the whites bitterly iegvetted having driven the coloured races to join lorccs with the natives.
