EXPLOSION ON LAUNCH

FOUR MEN BADLY BURNT

Thames. Feb. 13,

Four well-known residents of Tau ranga. were badly burnt yesterday when the launch Kingfish caught fire after an explosion in Mercury Cove where it was lying at anchor.

The crew comprised Captain Black and Messrs Joseph, Merrilees and Hunt, and all were injured, Captain Black being in a serious condition.

Those on the launch Emerald saw the blaze and rescued the crew from their predicament, subsequently taking them to hospital at* Mercury Bay. The launch Kingfish was s:d raged in a had condition.
