WESTELLA ESTATE
PURCHASED BY THE GOVERNMENT
FOR 'SMALL FARMS
(Per Press Association) Wellington, Feb. 12.
The Minister of Lands announces that the ’ Government lias acquired 844 acres of Mr R. L. Levin’s Westella property between Palmerston and Ifeildiug. Air Levin retains tlie homesteud and buildings. It is anticipated that, the block will be subdivided into ten or twelv e farms. The Grown obtains possession oil April 30 and it is anticipated that the land will be placed on the market about tli e same time. The surrounding district i, s given up to dairying and the new area, will be a valuable adjunct to that industry.
