r J’he fourth death, from drowning occurred in Manning river as £ho result oi tlio floods. •
Great damage has been done in the Middle and North Coast districts.
The losses sustained by farmers in the Manning area, will amount to more than £250,000.
The river reached, its highest point on. record.
The lives of many families endangered in the Taree district. They were rescued by members of tlio Surf Club in a surfboat.
Flood WateM have subsided rapidly and services have been restored on tlm North Coast railway line, During a. thunderstorm near Lisliiore C. White was milking a cow when, lighting killed the animal instantly and WITFFe was knocked uiP conscious.
C. Bro wilier, working on this same arm. was rendered unconscious owing to a. fireball striking the ground between bis feet.
On a nearby concrete wall were the marks of five separate missiles from tlie clouds.
