The Kairanga. County Council decided to make -application to have certain roads declared as main oi subsidiary highways.

They were the routes to Apiti. Feildiug, etc. They would have a strong claim. The roads were more important than some that had been declared highways. As an instance lie cited the Awaliuri to Feeding road over which there was not much traffic. Cr Small disagreed with this last statement, but agreed that the roads mentioned by Cr Anderson should be declared highways. Cr Cheetbam: We need a subsidy Wo cannot maintain the roads out of rates. Cr Small: There is an enormous quantity of traffic on those roads. Cr Cheatham seconded the motion, which was carried.
