The late .Miss Karepe was well know'll in the tennis world and first played in (lie Maori tournament at Rotorua, in 1020, and partnered with It. Howell, won. the New Zealand .Maori combined championship .lint yea r. In 1027 she followed up this sueeess hy winning, with Tukere. the well-known N\*an*z;n ll ui tennis player, the Rotorua combined cliainpionsiiip doubles, and at the Raster lonrnalnent in Wanganui Unit year S'.c was in the winning Arawa team which took way, for the first 'itne in sixteen years the ' Maruumru Trophy. Her absence from the tournament at Hastings this year was keenly felt hv her team-mates.
