He was the son of tho ex-French Consul at 'Wellington was educated at King's College, .Auckland and served in France with the Otago Mounted Rifles . He inherited several thousand pounds from his father, but the will was; subjected io litigation His mother expresses the opinion that lie committed suicide dramatically in order to draw attention to the litigation. He leaves at widow and a child.
